Virgin Atlantic to launch animated safety film

In the lights of the upcoming Academy Awards, Virgin Atlantic created an animated onboard safety film, designed not only to educate passengers but also to pay tribute to such iconic films and filmmakers as Sergio Leone, 2001: A Space Odyssey, James Bond, Batman, Alfred Hitchcock and more.

The six minute short film which also features voiceovers by British comedienne Morgana Robinson and is due to premiere this Saturday.

Star Alliance transforming the Terminal 2 experience

As London Heathrow’s Terminal 2 is set to open later this June, Star Alliance customers travelling from the new terminal can look forward to a quicker and more convenient check-in experience supported by state-of-the-art technology.

Thanks to a row a self-service check-in kiosks passengers will be able to check in and print their baggage tags independently. Once the baggage is tagged passengers will proceed to the fast-drop area, where the staff will submit the luggage into the system. Terminal 2 will also offer separate dedicated check-in areas for Business and First class customers.

As Star Alliance accounts for nearly 25% of traffic at London Heathrow, with the opening of the new terminal passengers will also be able to experience improved transfer services.

ANA to introduce onboard wi-fi

Starting from 01 March 2014, All Nippon Airways passengers travelling on selected international routes operated by B777-300ER and B767-300ER aircrafts will be able to take advantage of an onboard wi-fi service.

The service will be available at an additional charge, offering up to 5MB for $6, up to 10MB for $12 and up to 20MB for $24. As using the internet on the go is becoming increasingly popular, providing onboard wi-fi is set to significantly improve the ANA passengers’ overall flying experience.

Daily service between Addis Ababa and London Heathrow

Ethiopian Airlines passengers are soon to enjoy more flexibility when travelling to the capital of Ethiopia, as the airline is to increase the number of weekly services between Addis Ababa and London Heathrow from six to seven as of 08 July 2014.

The same as the current six weekly services the new Tuesday flight will be operated by the airline’s B787 Dreamliner, allowing passengers to enjoy ultimate levels of comfort and benefit from such features as large windows, reduced noise, dimmable lights and increased cabin humidity.
