Lufthansa and Germanwings passengers travelling to and from Germany between 02 April 2014 and 04 April 2014 have to be aware of possible service cancellations, as a three-day pilot strike is to take place across all German airports starting from 10pm on 01 April 2014.
Allegedly, Lufthansa pilots will be leaving all German airports for a period of three days in protest against existing working conditions and wages. The airline strongly apologises for the inconvenience this may cause and is working towards preventing the strike and decreasing its possible effects.

Hilton Worldwide is to increase its Waldorf Astoria property portfolio in southeast Asia, with the opening of Waldorf Astoria Jakarta scheduled for 2018. The new 74-floor development will be the brand’s second hotel in Indonesia and is set to become the tallest building in Jakarta.

Good news for passengers travelling to Tokyo this summer, as Hyatt’s new Andaz Tokyo Toranomon Hills is set to open its doors on 11 June 2014. The hotel will take up floors 47 to 52 of the famous wing-shaped Toranomon Hills tower, allowing customers to enjoy panoramic views over city from the second tallest building in Tokyo.
Andaz Tokyo Toranomon Hills will be joining 11 other boutique-style Andaz properties worldwide and will offer a variety of 164 guestrooms, including a range of 16 suites, which will vary between 50 and 220 sqm in size.

Located between Sixth and Seventh Avenues, the West 27th Street is to become home to the new 20-floor Innside Manhattan hotel in New York.
Set to open in 2016, Innside Manhattan will be Melia Hotels International’s first property in New York, offering a variety of 313 guestrooms, as well as a restaurant, a bar and meeting rooms.
Following its success in Europe Melia Hotels International is working towards increasing its worldwide presence with further plans to launch hotels in Miami and Los Angeles.
More updates on the upcoming Qatar Airways Edinburgh service to Doha, as the airline allegedly plans to eventually increase the service frequency to two flights a day, given the customer demand meets the airline’s expectations.
With at least 80% of Edinburgh passengers anticipated to connect with other destinations via Doha, Qatar Airways is already setting out to up the number of flights to daily by the end of 2014. Due to launch on 28 May 2014, the new Edinburgh-Doha service will initially run five times a week.
Ritz-Carlton is to double the number of its properties in the Asia-Pacific region by 2018, as the brand schedules the opening of it’s the new luxury Perth hotel for the same year.
Close to the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, the new Ritz-Carlton, Perth will be a mixed development, featuring a selection of 204 guestrooms, as well as one, two and three-bedroom apartments.
