Etihad Airways passengers can now take advantage of daily flights to Phuket, thanks to the launch of the airline’s new direct service from Abu Dhabi.
The city is the airline’s second Thai destination joining Etihad’s service to Bangkok. The new flights are serviced by A330-200 in a two class configuration offering 240 Economy and 22 Business class seats.
As part of being the Official Airline Partner of the 2014 Volvo World Match Play Championship, Singapore Airlines will be offering an increased baggage allowance to passengers travelling with golfing equipment. Customers travelling between 14 October 2014 and 15 March 2016 will be able to add a Golf Bag, at a maximum weight of 15kg to their standard baggage allowance. The offer applies to all cabin types for tickets purchased between 17 October 2014 and 31 March 2015.
Good news for passengers travelling from Newcastle, as a new United Airlines summer service between the city and New York is due to launch on 23 May 2015.
The new flights will operate to Newark Airport four times a week and will be available until 07 September 2015.
Accor increases its Ibis Styles property portfolio with the opening of the new Ibis Styles London Kensington. Set close to such famous attractions as Royal Albert Hall, Science Museum and Victoria & Albert Museum, the hotel features 115 rooms and benefits from proximity to Earl’s Court tube station.

British Airways customers can now enjoy saving up to a half on flights operating from Gatwick, Heathrow and London City as part of the airline’s new premium seat sale. The offer includes First, Club World and Club Europe seats and applies to selected long haul and short haul flights booked by 12 November 2014.
Brussels Airlines passengers can now take advantage of the airline’s new business lounge at Brussels Airport. The new 1,240 square metre facility can accommodate up to 300 guests and is set at the airport’s Pier A.
Known as The Loft, the new lounge offers passengers a unique range of facilities including “nap boxes” for sleeping, showers with music that changes depending on customers’ moods and more.
The lounge’s digital features were designed with in co-operation with Microsoft and Designit and include options to borrow a Surface Pro 3 for personal use as well as book time to use The Loft’s facilities, check flight information and more with a dedicated Connect Lounge app.
As for the dining options the new lounge offers guests a wide selection of local cheeses, beers, quiches, breakfasts and meat. Customers can also enjoy a variety desserts including Belgian waffles, rice pudding, apple pie and chocolate mousse.
As of 16 April 2015 Etihad Airways passengers will have an opportunity to take advantage of a daily service to Dallas/Fort Worth, as the airline announces it will be increasing the frequency of the three-times weekly service due to launch on 03 December 2014.
The new route will be the airline’s sixth USA destination and will be serviced by Boeing 777-200LR, giving passengers a choice of 177 Economy, 40 Business and eight First Class seats.
Passengers due to travel on board Virgin Atlantic’s new B787 are to enjoy even more onboard entertainment options with the introduction of new features across all cabin types.
Passengers travelling on the B787 will have an opportunity to take advantage of the airline’s new app which will allow passengers to share their experience, location and update social media accounts during their flight as well as take the perfect onboard “selfie” with the future introduction of “selfie hotspots” in all cabins.
Customers will be able to use the app by connecting to Virgin Atlantic’s onboard wi-fi service which is now available for £14.99 for the whole flight. As part of the innovations, the airline also equipped all seats with USB ports and installed a 24-inch touchscreen monitor in the Upper Class cabin. In addition, the B787 is set to offer customers a new in-flight entertainment system, providing over 400 hours of films, audio, games and more.
As Cathay Pacific starts a new brand refresh in the following months passengers are to notice some changes to the airline’s logo, baggage tags and website.
As part of the revamp, the airline’s logo has been simplified by making changes to the Cathay Pacific’s iconic brushwing symbol and standardising the typography size.
The airline will also be introducing colour coding to segment its cabin types with red to be used for First, dark blue for Business, light blue for Premium Economy, and green for Economy Class baggage tags.
The carrier also announced that it will be making changes to its website to offer customers a more intuitive and user-friendly experience.
Starting from 14 September 2015 British Airways customers will be able to take advantage of a year round service to the popular Egypt resort of Sharm El Sheikh operating from London Gatwick. The new A320 service will initially be available two times a week, with the frequency increasing to three flights per week as part of switching to the winter schedule.
