Starting from 01 December 2015 passengers travelling to New York will be able to enjoy the facilities of Etihad’s new A380, as the airline is to launch the aircraft on its route between Abu Dhabi and JFK.
The new superjumbo will operate one of Etihad’s two daily flights between the cities. Passengers will be able to choose from 417 Economy, 70 Business and nine First Class seats as well as experience travelling in the luxurious on-board apartment, “The Residence”.
Etihad Airways passengers travelling on long haul services will soon be able to enjoy increased levels of luxury as the carrier introduces its new in-flight products.
As part of the improvements First Class passengers will be able to benefit from such thoughtful features as a personalised welcome letter, a silver-tray reception service consisting of a welcome drink, hot towel and Arabic dates.
The airline will also be upgrading the in-flight dining experience across all cabin classes, adding an enhanced selection of canapes, a pre-dessert course, a Café Gourmand coffee and tea course to the First Class menu, introducing an “All Day” menu for Business Class and changing the menu cards, tableware and meal trays in Economy Class.
As for cabin design, First Class will feature new throws and cushions completing the cabin interiors as well as such thoughtful touches as a “Sweet Dreams” card, pillow mist and pulse point oil and more. The airline will also offer Business Class passengers travelling on selected flights a new turndown service, including a mattress, cotton loungewear and slippers, while Economy Class will benefit from new pillows and improved amenity kits.
Etihad Airways passengers can now take advantage of daily flights to Phuket, thanks to the launch of the airline’s new direct service from Abu Dhabi.
The city is the airline’s second Thai destination joining Etihad’s service to Bangkok. The new flights are serviced by A330-200 in a two class configuration offering 240 Economy and 22 Business class seats.
As of 16 April 2015 Etihad Airways passengers will have an opportunity to take advantage of a daily service to Dallas/Fort Worth, as the airline announces it will be increasing the frequency of the three-times weekly service due to launch on 03 December 2014.
The new route will be the airline’s sixth USA destination and will be serviced by Boeing 777-200LR, giving passengers a choice of 177 Economy, 40 Business and eight First Class seats.
Etihad Airways is to take its passengers’ flying experience to the next level of luxury by introducing a unique flying butler service. The service will be launched on the airline’s inaugural A380 service from Abu Dhabi to London Heathrow and will be available to passengers travelling in Etihad’s three-room cabin called The Residence.
Currently Etihad’s flying butler team consists of 13 hand-picked senior cabin crew members, who have all completed training provided by the head butler of London’s luxurious Savoy hotel.
Good news for airberlin, Air Serbia, Air Seychelles, Jet Airways, Etihad Regional (previously Darwin Airline) and Etihad Airways passengers, as they will soon be able to enjoy additional benefits thanks to the start of a new frequent flyer partnership between the airlines.
Titled “Etihad Airways Partners”, the partnership is designed to offer passengers a broader selection of services and connections thanks to a combined network of more than 250 destinations. Frequent flyer programme members will also be able to enjoy additional benefits, including standardised mileage across all partner airlines, no blackout dates and more.
With the launch of Etihad’s new onboard wi-fi service passengers travelling on the airline’s B777 aircraft can now enjoy using mobile data, making phone calls, sending text messages, emails and more during their flight.
Currently available on the airline’s 24 aircraft at an additional charge starting from only $5, the service is set to be introduced across Etihad’s entire passenger aircraft fleet in the upcoming months.
Etihad Airways is expanding its global network with the launch of new services to Baku, Tbilisi and Dar es Salaam scheduled for winter 2015.
Flights to the capital of Azerbaijan, Baku will be the first to commence with a four-times a week service to become available as of 01 October 2015. This will be followed by the launch a three-times weekly Tbilisi service on 02 October 2015 and the commence of daily flights to Tanzania’s Dar es Salaam on 01 December 2015.
The new flights will be serviced by the airline’s A320 aircraft, providing 120 Economy and 16 Business Class seats.
Guests travelling to Abu Dhabi with Etihad can now extend their premium experience with a visit to the airline’s new Arrivals Lounge at Abu Dhabi International Airport.
Available exclusively to First and Business Class passengers, the new Arrivals Lounge offers guests an opportunity to benefit from using such features as clothes pressing, shower rooms and the airline’s new wet shave service. Etihad’s Arrivals Lounge also offers dining and business facilities, including an international buffet and a Business Centre, providing guests the ultimate welcome to Abu Dhabi.
Etihad has also taken care of passengers’ further travels, offering a Chauffeur Service from Abu Dhabi International Airport to anywhere in the UAE.
Etihad Airways is to increase the number of its USA destinations, with a daily service between Abu Dhabi and San Francisco due to commence this November.
The new flights will be operated by B777-300ER leased from Jet Airways, offering 308 Economy and 30 Business Class seats.
The launch of the service will enable Etihad to offer flights to six USA destinations by the end of 2014.
