As part of continuously enhancing its on-board experience, United Airlines will be introducing brand new dining options to its premium-cabin customers starting from 01 February 2015.
The new menu will be available to Business and First Class passengers travelling on flights within North America and will include such dishes as scrambled eggs with pepper-jack cheese, sauteed pepper mix, sliced New Mexico sausage, potato gratin and fire-roasted pepper sauce; lobster macaroni and cheese with a baked crumb topping and broccoli rabe on the side; chicken and sausage jambalaya with white rice and green onions as well as a new selection of snacks.
United is to enhance its premium customers’ flying experience with the introduction of limited edition amenity kits for Global First and Business First customers travelling on selected international flights.
Set to be available until the end of March, the new premium amenity kits will contain such thoughtful items as Philosophy brand skin-care products and socks, an eye mask, toothbrush, toothpaste, tissue and ear plugs.
The amenity kits will also benefit from unique design, featuring the skylines of such popular destinations as London, Frankfurt, Tokyo, Beijing, Sydney, Rio de Janeiro, Dubai and more.
As United expands its international network customers can now take advantage of a new service between Houston and Santiago. Launched on 07 December 2014, United’s new flights offer the first nonstop daily service between the cities.
Operated by the airline’s Boeing 767-300 aircraft the service offers passengers 135 United Economy seats, 49 extra-legroom United Economy Plus seats and 30 flat-bed United Business/First seats to choose from.
In addition, customers can also take advantage of convenient connections to a broad variety of USA and international destinations from Houston.
United plans to increase the selection of its transatlantic services with a launch of two new seasonal summer routes, including flights from New York to Venice and from Chicago to Dublin. Both services are still subject to approval and are due to commence on 04 June 2015.
In addition the airline will also be increasing the frequency on its current Washington – Paris route making the service double daily between 04 June 2015 and 17 August 2015. Future flights from New York Newark to Venice will be serviced by the airline’s B767-400ER and will be available until 23 September 2015, while the Dublin route will be operated by a B757-200 until the service finishes on 17 August 2015.
Good news for passengers travelling from Newcastle, as a new United Airlines summer service between the city and New York is due to launch on 23 May 2015.
The new flights will operate to Newark Airport four times a week and will be available until 07 September 2015.
United Airlines passengers travelling on international flights can now save time at check-in, thanks to the launch of the airline’s new passport scanning mobile app.
The app allows customers to check-in up to 24 hours before departure through scanning passports by using the device’s camera to take a picture of the document. Once the document is verified for security, the passenger receives an e-boarding pass. The app also securely stores the scans, giving customers more convenience when using the app in the future.
The app is available for both iOS and Android users and can be used by passengers travelling with passports only. In the case of the passenger having additional travel documents (e.g. visas), the app cannot be used.
Following the recent opening of a United club lounge in Heathrow’s Terminal 2, a new United Club Lounge facility is now also available at San Francisco International Airport’s Terminal 3, near Boarding Area E. The 100-seat 465 sqm facility is a great addition to the airline’s lounges in Terminal 3 Boarding Area F and in the airport’s International Terminal.
The new lounge benefits from the new United Club design and offers guests an opportunity to benefit from such features and facilities as bar and cafe areas, power outlets and free wi-fi, as well as enjoy complimentary snacks and drinks. Customers will be able to take advantage of using the new lounge, until the opening of a larger United Club facility near Boarding Area E scheduled for 2015.
